Trump Rants At Rally About Getting Hit Over Gaffes He Definitely Did On Purpose

Former President Donald Trump ranted about the media pointing out gaffes in which he mistook prominent figures, insisting he “interposed” Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi on purpose to be “sarcastic.”

As President Joe Biden pushes back on Special Counsel Robert Hur over the damaging asides in the Hur Report, Trump continues to pile up the sorts of gaffes that he and Biden’s critics have sought to exploit against the president.

For months, he has been mixing up Biden and former President Barack Obamamisidentifying countries, not knowing what town he’s in, misidentifying world leaders, and insisting ex-Amb. Nikki Haley was in charge of security on Jan. 6. That’s to say nothing of the stream of bizarre asides on a variety of topics like marbles and whales.

Trump spoke to supporters at a rally in North Charleston, South Carolina, Wednesday, where he rolled out a new riff on the theme of his gaffes that takes some of the newer ones into account.

He told the crowd he was being “sarcastic” (not what that word means) when he “interposed” (not what that word means) Haley with Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi because “they both stink” in a rant that included a visit from the ghost of Rush Limbaugh:

These are very dishonest pe–. When I say “Barack Hussein Obama is the president of the United States,” meaning there’s a lot of control there because the one guy can’t put two sentences together.

So I say “Barack Hussein Obama.”

Remember Rush, he used to go “Barack Hussein Obama,” he’d go “Barack Hussein Obama.”.

But he it did that, Rush. Do we miss rush? Yes?

But when I say that Obama is the president of our country, bah bah bah, they go. “He doesn’t know that dis s’Biden. He doesn’t know.”

So it’s very hard to be sarcastic. When I interpose, because I’m not a Nikki fan and I’m not a Pelosi fan. And when I purposely interposed names, they said he didn’t know Pelosi from Nikki from tricky. Nikki. Tricky, Dickie.

“He didn’t know,” I interpose and they make a big deal out of it. I said “No, no, I think they both stink, they have something in common. They both say.”
