Trump Taunts Taylor Swift as He Hosts Super Bowl Champ Eagles at White House
President Donald Trump took a jab at pop superstar Taylor Swift as the Philadelphia Eagles visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Trump became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl in February when he watched the Eagles vs. the Chiefs in person in New Orleans. While speaking at the White House on Monday, the president called the game “incredible” and a “little surprising.”
“I was there along with Taylor Swift,” he said. “How did that work out?”
As the crowd laughed, Trump repeated his question, “How did that one work out?”
Swift is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Trump previously targeted Swift after she endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
“She’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace,” he told Fox News after Swift’s endorsement.
Trump erroneously claimed that Swift was “booed out of the stadium” after attending the Super Bowl, but both she and the president received a mix of cheers and jeers.
“MAGA is very unforgiving!” he wrote on Truth Social at the time.
Some Eagles players did not attend the White House event, including Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who had a “scheduling conflict,” according to the White House.
Trump said the Super Bowl champs “inspired the world with incredible spirit, athletic dominance and exceptional teamwork.” The president previously predicted the Kansas City Chiefs would walk away with the victory, telling Fox News ahead of the Super Bowl that he is “a big fan of both teams.”
