Utah Governor Reveals Alleged Shooter Discussed Charlie Kirk’s Visit to Campus and Why He ‘Didn’t Like’ Him With Family

Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R) revealed on Friday that Tyler Robinson, the man accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk earlier this week, had discussed with his family his thoughts on Kirk, his visit to Utah Valley University, and why he “didn’t like” him.

“Investigators interviewed a family member of Robinson who stated that Robinson had become more political in recent years,” stated Cox during a press conference. “The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to September 10th, and in the conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU.”

“They talked about why they didn’t like him, and the viewpoints that he had,” continued Cox. “The family members also stated Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate,” he continued.

Robinson has been taken into custody after avoiding authorities in the immediate aftermath of Kirk’s assassination.
