WATCH: Chicago Delivery Guy Yells ‘F*ck Trump!’ and Pedals Away As ICE Agents Try To Keep Up
A Chicago delivery guy has gone viral for yelling “F*ck Trump!” at ICE Agents, then narrowly escaping as about a dozen officers gave chase in full tactical gear.
Good Day Chicago on Fox32 featured a portion of the video in a segment on the federalized troops that have made their presence known in the downtown area.
Reporter Joanie Lum clipped out the bicyclist’s profanity, picking up the scene from where he doubled-back to pick up his dropped phone.
“The sight of armed masked federal agents walking around downtown — Now, some say it shouldn’t happen here, and some say they’re just fine with it. And then there is one man who did something that really caught attention,” Lum said.
The agents are heard yelling, “Get him!” as they start running after the man.
Lum continued, “So those ICE agents there at a traffic light, they told the cyclist he dropped his phone. He got off his bike to pick it up, and then he made those fast moves to ride away with about a dozen agents chasing him down Wacker drive.”
Donald Trump started sending federalized troops to Chicago over the weekend after threatening to do so for weeks.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported Sunday that immigration agents had begun making arrests while patrolling downtown Chicago.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson posted to social media that he was keeping an eye on the situation.
“I am closely monitoring the confirmed reports of federal agents on Michigan Ave.,” Johnson wrote. “While Chicagoans and visitors are enjoying another gorgeous Sunday, they are being intimidated and threatened by masked federal agents flaunting automatic weapons for no apparent reason.”
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D), who fought back against Trump’s threats for weeks, posted, “The Trump Administration’s DHS officers appear to be carrying large weapons around downtown Chicago in camouflage and masks. This is not making anybody safer — it’s a show of intimidation, instilling fear in our communities and hurting our businesses.”
