Watch: The 6 Most Bonkers Moments of Trump’s Shocking WHCD Speech

President Donald Trump’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner speech provided plenty of notable moments — even if the normally humorous event didn’t produce a lot of laughs.

He took the podium with a red Trump 2028 hat, a nod to a potential and prohibited third-term, which the president then lightheartedly tossed toward the crowd before launching into his more than hour-long speech.

From slamming some of his favorite punching bags — including CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, former White House competitor Chris Christie and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) — to joking at Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s expense and marveling at journalists who were awarded for work he sued over to slamming his own speechwriters, here are some of the top moments from the rescheduled dinner:

1. Trump trashes Collins: The president employed his usual criticism of Collins, who received an award at the event held at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington D.C. “…She’s a young, attractive woman. She never smiles. I said, ‘Kaitlan do you ever smile? Smile!’ You have a nice position, you’re at CNN fake news. You should be a happy person. So smile, Kaitlan! Just smile.” But he was roundly criticized for comparing the CNN correspondent to trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney. CNN quickly issued a statement praising Collins and adding: “We stand by her to the fullest extent.”

2. “Who the Hell wrote that line?”: The audience seemed confused when Trump tried to joke about Christie, the former New Jersey governor who once ran against him for the White House and has openly acknowledged his struggle with weight. Trump spoke about the weather delay for the July 4th celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, calling the event “fantastic” before joking: “I can exclusively reveal to you this evening that for the heaviest of the heavyweights, we will have sloppy Chris Christie, one of the sloppiest human beings you’ll ever meet.” But the joke didn’t land, prompting Trump to ask: “Who the hell wrote that line?”

3. Wild rant: The president attempted to joke about unfounded claims that Omar married her brother to gain entrance into the U.S. from Somalia. Omar and her family fled Somalia when she was 8 and spent years in a refugee camp before arriving in America, when she was just 12. The president proclaimed Omar should “get the hell outta our country” while claiming California is “becoming such a horrible and dangerous location that Ilhan Omar, one of my favorites, and her brother are thinking about moving together. They’re very much in love.”

4. Bemused reaction: The president could only shrug his shoulders after seven reporters from The Wall Street Journal were recognized for their coverage of Trump and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, over which Trump is suing. He then shook hands with each journalist.

5. Who brought the beef?: The most successful joke of the night was about Kennedy, who is known for his wild animal antics and seemed to take the ribbing in stride. “I hope that everyone finally got to enjoy their entire very delicious beef tenderloin. Very special beef. And I want you all to know that Bobby Kennedy is right here. Personally ran over the cow in his car and he cut it up and he brought it here for you to eat tonight,” the president quipped.

6. “Stupid speech they wrote:” The president acknowledged the failed jokes by taking a jab at his own speech writers after a bit about aging members of Congress got few laughs. “Does anybody get that one? I thought that was actually pretty good. That was actually the only thing I thought was good in this whole freaking stupid speech that they wrote,” he said.
