‘You Comment on These Things for a Living’: Ben Shapiro Reminds Megyn Kelly of Her Job in Spat Over Candace Owens
The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro reminded Megyn Kelly of her job description during an event hosted by the latter on Thursday night.
The pair was discussing Shapiro’s feud with Tucker Carlson — during another tense moment, Shapiro asked her, “Who gives a sh*t!?” after Kelly repeated Carlson’s defense of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro — when Kelly asked about the latest outbreak of hostilities between Shapiro and Carlson.
“Just to be clear, so the breakdown from the like détente after Charlie [Kirk’s death] was him [Carlson] interviewing [Nick] Fuentes, like was that the next thing that happened that led to the blow up?” inquired Kelly.
“I mean, yes. I mean, I had not spoken a word, there are things-” replied Shapiro before Kelly interrupted.
“So it wasn’t that he attacked you, or you had something?” she asked.
“No, I don’t care about people attacking me, and I don’t think Tucker cares about people attacking him,” affirmed Shapiro. “We’re professionals, we’re in a business where people comment on what we say publicly. You know, again. this is why, you know, I think you and I differ on our angle with regard to, for example, Candace Owens. I think that what Candace Owens is doing right now is evil. It is evil what she is doing right now, OK? And I say that, again-”
“But what-, like I didn’t opine on whether it’s evil or not,” said Kelly. “But my position is: it’s really none of my business and-”
“Why is it-, but I have a question: why is it none of your business?” asked Shapiro. “I mean, you comment on these things for a living.”
“I’m not mother of the internet,” answered Kelly.
“No, but if this were on the left and somebody were accusing Charlie Kirk of his wife having murdered him, I assume that you would be talking about it,” shot back Shapiro, making a weighty allegation about Owens that she has disputed.
