‘You’re Literally An Immigrant’: Ocasio-Cortez Mocks Musk Over Claim Dems Want to ‘Import Voters’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) slammed billionaire Elon Musk on X Thursday after he claimed Democrats are seeking to “import voters” with the influx of migrants at the southern border.
The owner of X and Tesla CEO shared a link to a story by the Daily Caller, a website founded by Tucker Carlson, claiming the White House is considering granting amnesty and “handing out green cards” to undocumented migrants.
Musk then claimed the goal of the Democratic Party is to “import voters” via the influx of migrants across the southern border — a claim known as the “great replacement theory” that Musk has been pushing for months. The headline Musk shared came from a Politico report that the Biden administration has canceled executive actions to slow down migration at the southern border.
The New York lawmaker followed up with a reminder that the South African-born billionaire is an immigrant himself.
“You’re literally an immigrant,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in response to Musk. “And for everyone saying ‘yeah, but legal!!’ May I once again remind you that seeking asylum is legal, too. Have a good day!”

Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, have long accused the Biden administration of refusing to secure the border. Meanwhile, Democrats have claimed House Republicans are stalling funding for border security in order to help Trump’s poll numbers heading into the November race.
President Joe Biden holds some of his lowest approval ratings in head-to-head polling with Trump on issues regarding immigration.
