‘She’s Right Off the Movie Poltergeist!’ House Republican Calls Laura Loomer ‘Crazy’ After Trump Follows Her Orders

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) didn’t hold back when asked about President Donald Trump’s recent firings of top cyber and intelligence officials — and the far-right conspiracy theorist allegedly behind them.

“She’s right off the movie Poltergeist,” Bacon said of activist Laura Loomer during an appearance on The Chuck ToddCast Monday.

Bacon, a retired Air Force brigadier general, was reacting to reports that Trump fired National Security Agency Director Gen. Timothy Haugh following a meeting with Loomer in the Oval Office last week.

While speaking with Chuck Todd on Monday morning, Bacon savaged Loomer as a malevolent spirit and a “crazy” person:

After discussing potential military cuts under the Trump administration, Todd brought up the NSA firings and dropped Loomer’s name:

TODD: These cyber firings that apparently are linked to, and look, I’m not gonna make you comment on her, this Laura Loomer, but sometimes I look at her and think she’s like a character in some movie. Like she doesn’t even seem like a real – but could somebody like this have this kind of influence of our cyber command?

BACON: She’s right off the movie Poltergeist. I shouldn’t say that, but she’s crazy. And I’ll leave it at that. And she –no, the president denies that she had a, you know, part of this firing, but the fact that she was there that day or the day prior and recommended that Gen. Haugh and four or five others get fired and they did get fired. And there’s no other explanation for it. I know General Haugh, General Haugh, he was a Colonel when I was a one star. He spent 34 years. in the Air Force and every assignment other than schools, he served either in signals intelligence or cyber operations.

Aboard Air Force One last week, Trump was asked about reports Loomer came directly to him with grievances about people serving in his administration.

Trump denied Loomer played any role in the firings but did praise her.

“She’s a very strong person and I saw her yesterday for a little while she has – she makes recommendations of things and people, and sometimes I listen to those recommendations like I do with everybody,” Trump said. “I listen to everybody and then I make a decision.”
