‘What the F**k?!’ Rogan Goes Off on Democrats For Constantly Hitting Trump Over January 6 Riot
Joe Rogan went off on Democrats for constantly “using” the Jan. 6 Capitol riot to “go after” President Donald Trump, calling the focus “disgusting.”
Rogan was joined by whistleblower and former CIA officer John Kiriakou on Friday’s The Joe Rogan Experience and Rogan at one point claimed Democrats have used the 2021 Capitol riot by Trump supporters to their advantage. The podcaster and comedian also claimed that “a lot” of the narrative around Jan. 6 is “bulls**t.”
He argued:
If you get accused of some sort of a heinous crime, the narrative for most people that are casual viewers of that story is that you’re a terrorist. Or you’re a guy who’s going to kidnap the governor, or you’re a guy who is an insurrectionist who’s trying to overthrow the government on January 6th. And then you watch the footage that they wouldn’t release during the trials and you see them getting a guided tour. The guided tour through — the security guards are walking them into the Senate. Like, what the f**k? What is this? And why is no one outraged?
“Tours” of the Capitol were technically closed at the time of the Capitol riot due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, though footage was released of a small group receiving a tour the day prior to the riot. The congressional subcommittee investigating Jan. 6 released footage in 2022 of a Republican lawmaker giving a tour to a small group, and one person inside the group would go on to threaten Democrats outside the Capitol.
Rogan argued Democrats should be more focused on better “political opposition” rather than constantly focusing on Jan. 6 as an “insurrection” inspired by Trump and his denial that 2020 was a fair presidential election.
Rogan at one point also echoed Trump by claiming there were hundreds of undercover FBI agents at the riot. The inspector general of the Justice Department previously stated there were 26 FBI confidential sources — not FBI agents — on the ground that day, and actual FBI agents responded to calls to assist Capitol Police. Some agents were also already in place investigating pipe bombs in the area.
“Why is it only one side that’s outraged? God, if I was a Democrat congressman or a senator, or if I was any sort of a politician on the other side, I’d be like, do you know how disgusting this is?” he said. “You’re using this to go after Donald Trump? Instead of just better political opposition?”
