That Was Quick: Clinton/GWB “Debate” Called Off
Remember that Clinton/Bush debate that was going to be “The Hottest Ticket in Political History”? From this morning? Well hope you didn’t write it on your calendar in pen, ’cause it’s been canceled. From the NYP:
A “debate” between former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush has been nixed because the promoter overhyped it as a death-match faceoff between the men, The Post has learned.
Turns out it was supposed to be more like that Toronto event and less like this. Ah well. Thanks to “an overeager promoter,” it is no more. I like to think it was the vaguely disapproving tone of my last post that put ’em over the edge.
In the meantime, please enjoy this visual representation of what the battle royale might have been like.
