Fox News host Pete Hegseth shot to the top of the New York Times bestseller list this week with his book The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men who Keep us Free.

Hegseth’s book moved more than 60,000 copies in its first week of release, an impressive number especially when compared to the sales figures for other books from similar media personalities. According to Bookscan, MSNBC host Jen Psaki’s recent release titled Say More has moved approximately 22,000 copies since debuting last month. Hegseth’s book was released on June 4.

Hegseth’s release topped the list of best selling non-fiction books. Behind Hegseth’s book are titles from popular names like Erik Larson and Bill Maher.

The War on Warriors marks the eleventh book from Fox News Books and Hegseth’s second under the imprint, which is currently under a deal with Harper Collins. Hegseth, an Army veteran himself, called his latest work a “moving experience,” especially seeing it resonate with members of the military.

“Publishing this book has been a moving experience from start to finish. I am honored and humbled that The War on Warriors has resonated with so many people; most especially with actively serving troops, veterans, and military families. This book is for them, and for our country,” he said in a statement. “A great nation needs a great military, and I hope this book plays a role in restoring the military to its core function: deterring, fighting, and winning our wars.”

The War on Warriors focuses on recent changes to the military that Hegseth argues have broken down the system, including Covid vaccine mandates and attempts to be more “woke.” Hegseth also details in the work leaving the Army after years in service. He was officially separated in January.

“While writing this book, I separated from an Army that didn’t want me anymore. The feeling was mutual — I didn’t want this Army anymore either,” Hegseth writes in the book.
