Charlamagne Claims Passage of Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill Means Midterms and 2028 Likely ‘Fixed’: ‘Free and Fair Elections, My Ass’
Charlamagne Tha God said that the passage of President Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill has him convinced the 2026 midterm elections are “probably already fixed.”
On Tuesday’s The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne argued Republicans are unconcerned with bipartisan red flags waved over the Big Beautiful Bill, which passed through the House and Senate by slim margins.
Democrats have pointed to steep cuts to Medicaid and other federal programs as what could blow back on Republicans, while GOP lawmakers like Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) have taken issue with the bill’s spending and the raising of the debt ceiling. Republicans in favor have meanwhile touted the extension of 2017 tax cuts included in the bill as part of their pitch to voters.
“This bill is going to cut Medicaid and food assistance for up to 17 million Americans, right? You see Republicans and Democrats have spoken out against this bill,” Charlamagne said on Tuesday. “Some folks are calling it political suicide, and they say the GOP is going to lose a bunch of seats in the midterms.”
The radio host further claimed that Republicans being unconcerned with potential fallout from the bill proves future elections could be “fixed.”
“If the GOP doesn’t seem to be concerned about that, then what does that tell y’all folks? The fight is probably already fixed, when it comes to the midterm elections, you know, and 2028,” he said.
Charlamagne added, “I just feel like, you know, if something is, you know, political suicide, if you’re using that kind of language for a bill and you pass it anyway, then you know something that the rest of us don’t know, or you know something that the rest of us do know, and we just sitting around waiting for the inevitable to happen.”
He finished his commentary with some sarcasm, saying, “Free and fair elections, my ass. We’ll see in a couple of years.”
