Aaron Rodgers revealed that he would have had to retire from the NFL if he took Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on his offer to be his running mate.

Kennedy announced in March that Rodgers was on his list of potential vice presidents heading into the 2024 presidential election. The list also included retired wrestling star — and former governor of Minnesota — Jesse “The Body” Ventura, as well as Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.

After the media frenzy that came with asking the quarterback of the New York Jets to be his VP, Kennedy ultimately chose Nicole Shanahan.

In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Rodgers detailed the moment Kennedy made him the offer. While he was initially shocked by it, Rodgers said his love for the country made him seriously consider it.

After giving it some thought, he chose to continue playing football.

“I love Bobby,” Rodgers said at a team press conference Tuesday. “We had a couple really nice conversations; but there were really two options. It was retire and be his VP, or keep playing — and I want to keep playing.”
