Former Major League Baseball pitcher and World Series champion Octavio Dotel was reportedly trapped in the rubble of a Dominican nightclub that collapsed Tuesday and has died.

Dotel was pulled from by first responders, but died while being transported to the hospital, according to TMZ and the Daily Mail.

The retired hurler, who played for 13 teams during his career — including the New York Mets and Yankees — was among 120 people injured when the roof of the Jet Set club in Santo Domingo collapsed not long after midnight Tuesday during a merengue concert.

“We presume that many of them are still alive, and that is why the authorities here will not give up until not a single person remains under that rubble,” Juan Manuel Méndez, director of the Center of Emergency Operations, told the Associated Press.

At least 18 people have been killed, with over 120 injured, according to the AP. The cause of the collapse has not yet been revealed.

Dotel played 14 Major League seasons, notching a total of 59 wins and 109 saves, according to Baseball-Reference.com.

UPDATE: This story has been updated to include the reports of Dotel’s death.
