Shaq Dunks on Star NBA Guard Who’s ‘Robbing People’: ‘He Needs to Be F*cking Arrested’

Shaquille O’Neal claimed Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons should be arrested due to his lack of availability relative to his massive contract.

O’Neal has faced a wave of recent criticism for disparaging comments he’s made about the NBA. On both his podcast — called The Big Podcast — and the TNT show Inside the NBA, the retired center has repeatedly bashed the NBA product as the league suffered a noticeable ratings slide. Fans of the league have blamed commentators like O’Neal and their largely-negative takes for the lack of viewership.

In response to those accusing him as being part of the problem, O’Neal doubled down on his podcast by calling the product “shit” and even singling out Simmons, whose career has been derailed by injuries over the last few seasons. His co-host Adam Lefkoe was taken aback by the sudden mention of Simmons.

O’NEAL: A lot of these motherfuckers can’t play and they know it. In any fucking era, they can’t fucking play. I’m just saying. Pick and roll, one on one — can’t play, dog. [Nikola Jokic] could play; [Giannis Antetokounmpo] could play; [Damian Lillard] — a couple of these guys could play, but a lot of these motherfuckers can’t play. Like, Ben fucking Simmons, that motherfucker needs to be arrested.

LEFKOE: What about, like, a Jayson Tatum?

O’NEAL: Jayson Tatum could play. He’s alright. I’m not going to bash him; but Ben Simmons need to be fucking arrested. [Two-hundred fifty million dollars] for that shit?

LEFKOE: Arrested, did you say?

O’NEAL: Arrested. Two-hundred fifty million for that motherfucker? Get the fuck out my face. Robbing people, man. Can’t do that.
