Super Bowl LVIII Was Most-Watched Program Ever

Super Bowl LVIII featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on CBS was the most-watched program in television history, according to a press release from the network.
Kansas City’s 25-22 overtime win notched 123.4 million average viewers, with 120 million watching on CBS, which is the largest audience for one network. The previous record was last year’s Super Bowl in which the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles. That contest drew an average viewership of 115.1 million, which was a record at the time.
As a telecast, it still trailed the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969, which was reportedly watched by between 125 million and 150 million people.

Super Bowl LVIII is the most-watched program ever, averaging 123.4 million viewers across all platforms, up +7% vs. last year’s Super Bowl which was the previous record (115.1 million).
More than 200 million viewers (202.4) watched all or part of Super Bowl LVIII across networks, the highest unduplicated total audience in history and up +10% vs. last year’s Super Bowl (184 million).

Super Bowl LVIII capped off a record-setting season for CBS Sports. The NFL ON CBS scored the most-watched regular season since the NFL returned to CBS in 1998 as well as the Network’s best postseason viewership since 1998.
MOST-STREAMED SUPER BOWL EVER
Super Bowl LVIII is the most-streamed Super Bowl in history, led by a record-setting audience on Paramount+.
In addition to the highly anticipated matchup on the field called by Jim Nantz and Tony Romo, the romantic relationship between Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift supercharged the usual media frenzy surrounding the biggest sporting event in the country.
