‘You’re 21 Years Old!’ Stephen Smith Hilariously Blows Up at ‘Grown-Ass Man’ Trying to Grill Him Over Pixar’s ‘Cars’
Stephen A. Smith went viral over a highly entertaining argument he had with a caller who asked the sports commentator where he ranks Pixar characters in his list of legendary athletes.
Smith was hosting his eponymous podcast on Tuesday when “Danny from Wisconsin” phoned in with a seemingly ordinary question at first about champions like Michael Jordan and Tom Brady. Things took an unusual turn though when Danny asked “Where do you rank a guy like Lightning McQueen who has seven Piston Cups?”
Smith immediately picked up on the reference to the Cars movies, taking only a moment to retort “I would tell you he wouldn’t be the GOAT.”
“I mean, when you talk about Strip ‘The King’ Weathers and Lightning McQueen, they’re both tied with seven Piston Cups… How do you be the GOAT if you’ve got somebody that’s tied with you? Sorry, that ain’t gonna work.”
Smith called Danny out for “trying to catch me” with the Cars question, while Danny continued lauding McQueen’s record in the Pixar universe.
“Strip Weathers has seven Piston Cups!” Smith reiterated. “I’m not about to sit here and argue with a grown-ass man about the movie Cars!”
The hilariousness continued when Smith asked Danny for his age before moving on to why they weren’t talking about who’s the most impressive character from the Fast & Furious franchise.
“Stephen A, Cars is as real to little kids as…” Danny said.
“YOU’RE NOT A LITTLE KID!” Smith exploded in characteristic passion. “You’re 21! You would have a point if you were seven years old calling me! You’re 21 years old! What are you doing? Wearing a diaper? Goodbye, man.”
Smith posted the moment on X (formerly Twitter), where it got plenty of traction with over 15 million views in less than a day as of this writing.
