Afghan War Vet Trashes ‘Idiot’ Lauren Boebert for Heckling Biden: ‘Should Be Ashamed of Her G*ddamn Self’

A U.S. Army veteran called Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) an “idiot” on Thursday after she heckled President Joe Biden during Tuesday’s State of the Union address.

Boebert went viral online after she shouted at Biden as he spoke about the 2015 death of his son Beau from brain cancer.

As the president spoke about toxic chemicals and burn pits that American troops are often exposed to, Boebert yelled, “Thirteen!”

Isiah James, a former congressional candidate and a a senior policy advisor for the black veterans projected, joined The Lead on CNN Thursday.

James spoke to host Jake Tapper about his three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and recounted his experience to the chemicals soldiers are often exposed to from burn pits.

“I have really bad lung scarring,” James said. “I’m on oxygen therapy every day of my life. You just don’t see it because my machine is in my bedroom.”

Tapper then spoke about a bill that passed in the House earlier in the day to assist veterans who deal with ailments, such as those James spoke of.

Tapper also noted Biden believed the burn pits might have caused his son’s cancer.

“Colorado Republican congresswoman Lauren Boebert yelled out that Biden had put service members in coffins,” Tapper then said. “She referenced the 13 service members who were killed during that ugly withdrawal from Afghanistan last summer.

“What was your response to that moment?”

James concluded Boebert is an “idiot” who should feel shame:

I’m going to speak plainly, Jake. She’s an idiot, right? And yes, I said that. She cannot even equate that to what we’re talking about right now. Those service members who served their country honorably and died in service when what happened in Afghanistan happened, they were doing their duty.

President Biden had nothing to do with that. And for her to interrupt the sitting commander-in-chief as he’s talking about something so poignant and so important, just to score some cheap political points that only play on some obscure networks for right-wing trolls, is inexcusable. And she should be ashamed of her goddamn self, but she’s not going to be.
