Amash Fires Back at House GOP Leader McCarthy: ‘Everyone Knows He’s Lying… Typical Kevin’

Congressman Justin Amash, the lone Republican in Congress arguing that President Donald Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct, fired back at the top Republican in the House for criticizing his remarks.

Amash stunned a lot of people with his assessment of the Mueller report. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy ripped Amash yesterday on Fox News and said, “This is exactly what he wants, he wants to have attention… He’s been in Congress quite some time. I think he’s asked one question in all the committees that he’s been in. He votes more with Nancy Pelosi than he ever votes with me.”

Amash spoke to reporters tonight and said, “I think everyone knows he’s lying. That’s typical Kevin.”

He again said it would be appropriate to begin the impeachment process, adding, “Speaker Pelosi’s in charge of that.”

He also dismissed the primary challenge against him as unserious.
