And Here’s the First Cable News Pundit to Connect Dallas Ebola Case to Obama

You knew it would happen eventually. Just not this soon.

Now that the Centers for Disease Control has confirmed the first U.S. case of Ebola in Dallas, Texas, cable news will likely become filled with panic-driven punditry and feverish claims about the disease that — while horrific when it hits impoverished nations abroad — could never constitute a public health crisis in the United States.

Put simply: Ebola is not an airborne virus and so a wealthy country like the U.S. would not be the most hospitable place for a virus that can only be spread through human blood and bodily fluids.

And yet, panic will surely come in some form or another. And so will the partisan hackery.

I made this prediction shortly before 5:00 p.m., just after news broke of the Dallas Ebola case:
