Anderson Cooper: Nunes Memo Is a ‘Phony Drama’ as Its Release Was Always a ‘Foregone Conclusion’
CNN's @AndersonCooper: #KeepingThemHonest, the Nunes memo is in "many ways a phony drama. Phony, because the release of the memo is by all accounts a foregone conclusion. It is, and always has been." https://t.co/twuyIQX82k pic.twitter.com/OKr9Ybases

At the top of his program this evening, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper touched on all of the focus being paid to the controversial Nunes memo, which could be authorized for release by the president as early as tomorrow morning. And he let his audience know that this memo was always going to get released.
“We begin tonight with the drama over the Nunes memo,” Cooper noted. “Keeping them honest, it is in many ways a phony drama. Phony, because the release of the memo is by all accounts a foregone conclusion. It is, and always has been.”
He continued, “In question is not some bipartisan finding of fact from the House Intelligence Committee, it appears it will be something of a press release. Possibly something just emailed out under the letterhead the House Intelligence Committee membership, chaired of course by Congressman Devin Nunes.”
The CNN anchor went on to note that the president has let it be known that he absolutely will let the four-page document be released despite the objections of his FBI director, who has expressed “grave concerns” about the document’s release. Cooper added that even though tens of thousands of FBI agents may suddenly be smeared by the document’s contents, the president will make sure the memo will be released.
“Every indication we have from the president — and from his son Don Jr., who’s been tweeting up a storm lately — and others, is that this is about attacking the FBI and the Justice Department,” Cooper declared.
He further stated that it still is not known if Trump and the White House worked in conjunction with Nunes on this memo.
