Anthony Scaramucci to Chris Cuomo: If CNN Treats President Trump Nicer, We’ll ‘Bring Him On’
Now we know what CNN has to do to book President Trump!
Since being named White House Communications Director last week, Anthony Scarammuci has been a frequent guest on many cable news outlets, offering a refreshingly different approach in speaking on behalf of President Donald Trump. His affable, direct, and conflict-averse style contrasts significantly with the combative style of others who represent the administration, and this was on full display during an interview today with CNN’s Chris Cuomo.
Towards the end of a lengthy interview on New Day, Cuomo addressed reports that embattled (beleaguered?) Attorney General Jeff Sessions was launching an investigation into leaks, suggesting that this might bring an increased sense of paranoia amongst White House staffers. Scaramucci defended the idea of running a tighter ship and reminded the CNN host that Trump’s managerial style can’t be that bad given that he’s ostensibly worth billions of dollar and now living in the White House.
When Cuommo acknowledged that Trump has a “great gut and a great ear,” Scaramucci perked up, noting “that’s the nicest thing that’s been said about the president on CNN in the last six months,” then added that he would hug his fellow Italian-American host if they weren’t separated by the hundreds of miles between CNN’s New York studio and the White house.
And like any good parent has learned from experience, he then suggested that he wanted reward what he saw as Cuomo’s good behavior by saying “lets build a habit of saying nice things about the president and I will bring him on.” President Trump hasn’t availed himself for an interview on any CNN outlet since he’s moved to the White House, despite numerous reported requests from the network.
