As Bloomberg Adds BusinessWeek, Bloomberg TV Evolves As Well

One person who knows the cable news world arguably better than anyone will be a guest on Bloomberg TV tomorrow – CNN founder Ted Turner. Bloomberg TV anchor Betty Liu will conduct the interview. “The floor is open in terms of what we can talk about with him,” she tells Mediaite, with topics expected to range from “the state of cable TV business” to “the economy, and Capitalism as we know it.”

“Ted certainly has a lot of opinions, he’s outspoken, and we hear he’s looking forward to sitting down with Bloomberg as well,” she said.

For Liu, who previously worked at CNBC, Bloomberg TV offers something other business networks cannot. “It’s about being the fastest, being the smartest, giving people business news in a straight-forward way that’s entertaining, informative and analytical,” she said.

Another thing that gives Bloomberg a leg up – the vast worldwide platform and resources. Says Rhodes:

This is a television property that is part of a really extraordinary news organization, and so the editorial resources available for us as a result of that really distinguishes this place. There’s a real unique global footprint for the news organization that’s something not many organizations have right now.
