‘Attack Them Inside Mexico?’ Fox Host Stunned By House Republican Calling For Military Incursion Against Cartels
Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) took Fox Business host Stuart Varney by surprise on Wednesday when he argued for the U.S. to put troops on the ground in Mexico to root out the drug cartels.
Gimenez began by saying he’s “really glad” Mexico’s drug cartels were finally “designated terrorists by the Trump administration. Let’s go after them and wipe them off the face of the earth.”
“What do you mean by that? Let’s go after them. Attack them inside Mexico? Is that what you’re saying?” Varney followed up for clarification.
“Yeah. Well, that’s what I’m saying. Look, I’m going to go I would give Mexico two weeks to do the job and they can’t do the job. And we’ve got to do the job. We’ve got to protect American citizens. Stuart, they’ve been killing hundreds of thousands of Americans and they do it knowingly. Okay. Poisoning us. And so, yeah, we need to go get them and we need to wipe them off the face of the earth,” Gimenez replied.
“I wonder if America is ready for that kind of I’m going to call it radical change?” Varney pressed.
“Well, listen, we went to war for 15 years when Al Qaida killed 3,000 Americans. These Mexican cartels are killing hundreds times more than that. And they’re right across the border. And so, yeah, we need to go get them and wipe them off the face of the earth,” Gimenez said.
“We’ve got every single family, every everybody knows of somebody that has been killed by these cartels. And by the way, they’re aided by communist China who actually creates the chemicals, that creates the drugs that kills Americans,” concluded the Florida Republican.
