Maher Blasts Dems For Not Rebuking Socialism Charges From GOP: Even Crickets Make More Noise!

Bill Maher closed his show Friday night by lecturing Democrats who don’t have a strong response to socialist charges made by Republicans.

Maher began by arguing that the “best voices” who have been speaking out against Republicans “are Republicans,” citing Nicolle Wallace, Steve Schmidt, Rick Wilson, George Will, Bret Stephens, Joe Scarborough, Richard Painter, Michael Steele, Jennifer Rubin, David Jolly, Ana Navarro, Max Boot, and David Frum.

“They’re the ones who are out there with the gloves landing head punches, even Trump’s own people tear him down better than any Democrat,” Maher said . “Where are our potty mouths?”

Noting that we’re 52 days away from the midterms, Maher told Democrats that the GOP was running on “socialism,” conceding that “the one they’re really good at” is coming up with a “good line of bullsh*t” and repeating it over and over “until even Tomi Lahren can do it.”

The Real Time host then blasted Democrats for not explaining that “Medicare is socialism” along with other popular programs.

“Trump just gave farmers a $12 billion bailout to make up for his stupid tariffs,” Maher continued. “We took tax money from some people, mostly in New York and California, and gave it to f**king farmers… that’s socialism. Socialism is the reason you don’t have to bring your own highway when you want to drive somewhere. It’s why there’s a fire department to show up when your burning Nikes spread to the house. The U.S. military does more socialism by 9AM than Venezuela does all day… Even Trump voters like their government goodies, so why can’t Democrats all get in a room and come out with a single answer to these ‘scary socialism’ charge? This is the attack on us! And Democrats’ response is? I would say crickets, but crickets make some noise.”

Maher then compared harsh remarks made by Steve Schmidt after Trump’s Helsinki summit to remarks made by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) who in 2017 said that Trump was “likely” going to finish his first term and that she hopes that he “has the ability to learn and change” and “if he does, he can be a good president.”

“No! He can’t do any of those things!” Maher reacted. “And Democrats’ rhetoric does not nearly match the level of that crisis! The Democrats, as usual, are making a mole hill out of a mountain.”

He argued that Trump “isn’t on our side” since he continues to attack the FBI, CIA and DOJ.

“How’s this for a slogan? ‘We’re not socialists, you’re traitors!'” Maher concluded.
