Bill Maher Faced Off With Julian Assange and It Was Amazing

Bill Maher faced off with WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange over the DNC email hack and wow, was it quite something.

The interview started out normally, with Maher challenging him on the idea of a big “smoking gun” in the DNC emails. Assange pointed to evidence of plots against Bernie Sanders, but Maher said there were no plots.

And then Maher accused Assange of “working with a bad actor, Russia” to take down “the one person who stands in the way of us electing Donald Trump!”

Assange went ahead and upped the ante by bringing up a “William Maher” he found who donated money to a Clinton-affiliated organization, and proceeded to confront Maher over whether it was him. Quite a bit. Maher said, “Fuck no.”

Maher even asked him why he hasn’t targeted anything of Trump’s for hacking yet. Assange wryly says, “We’re working on it.”

Oh, and to top all of that, Assange went ahead and implied that Snowden attacked him for not curating his information because he wants to curry favor with the Obama administration in the hopes of getting a deal to come home.
