Bill Maher Reacts to Paris Attack: ‘Why Do They Hate Us?’
Bill Maher started his panel tonight by reacting to the Paris attack and asking, “Why do they hate us?”
He brought up how back in January, everyone was saying “Je Suis Charlie!”, but pointed out no one ever really followed through with that. He said that terrorists always say they’re outraged that the West is in Muslim lands, so Maher asked, “Why don’t we get out of Muslim lands?”
Dylan Ratigan talked about how the United States is financing Saudi Arabia and they’re able to oppress the people that then lash out, while Jay Leno made a Star Trek joke to explain how maybe the U.S. shouldn’t bring democracy everywhere.
Maher also briefly addressed the attack at the top of his show when he attempted to sing the first part of the French national anthem in solidarity.
