Bill O’Reilly Slightly Puzzled By SI Swimsuit Model Kate Upton’s ‘Dopey Dance’
Fox News host Bill O’Reilly took a little time on Tuesday evening to give credit to a young woman to whom credit is due — Kate Upton, the lovely lady who graces the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. And all because of a viral video featuring a “dopey” (his word — I thought it was cool) dance she performed at a basketball game! America, America, this is you.
He invited author and former model Robin Hazelwood onto the show to discuss Upton’s success, which she credits to Upton’s savvy decision to post her little dance online. That video was eventually seen by a man at the very big and famous IMG modeling agency.

Marketing expert Marian Salzman weighed in as well, noting that even instant online success is reliant, still, on having “the right stuff.” But, as O’Reilly pointed out, “there are a lot of women who are pretty as she is, and who can do the dopey dance as well as she is.”
Hazelwood notes that part of Upton’s success actually has little to do with Upton herself, but with the state of the modeling industry and the fact that it has been, as she characterized it, “in the doldrums.”
