Bob Schieffer Says Goodbye to CBS After Over 40 Years
Longtime CBS newsman Bob Schieffer said goodbye today after 46 years at the network, 24 of those spent as anchor of Face the Nation.
In a mid-show message to viewers, Schieffer recalled how much he’s loved every job he’s ever done and how amazing it was for him to be able to work at CBS News, a dream of his when he was young.
Schieffer said he’s going to “miss being in the middle of things,” but beyond all that, he remains forever grateful for the trust placed in him by viewers for all the decades he’s been on the air.
“That meant the world to me,” Schieffer said, “and it always will.”
