Brit Hume’s On the Record Debut Brings Rise in Ratings

 

brit humeBrit Hume‘s debut as host of On the Record  brought an increase in viewership to the 7 p.m. hour Tuesday.

Hume took over hosting duties from Greta Van Susteren, who abruptly announced her immediate resignation from Fox on Tuesday after 14 years with the network.

In his first hour as host, Hume took in 2.395 million viewers in total and 429K in the coveted 25-54 demographic, handily beating MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews, which netted 1.177 million in total and 268K in demo, and CNN’s Outfront with Erin Burnett, which took in 828K in total and 249K in demo.

Hume’s debut also represents a slight increase in viewership over the last time Van Susteren hosted the show, on Wednesday, Aug. 31, when the show took in 2.368 million in total and 379K in demo.
