Charlie Gasparino Says CNBC Lets Tim Geithner “Get Away With His Spin”

FBN correspondent Charlie Gasparino tried an ambush interview with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner in an odd place – the building Fox Business is located in.

Geithner didn’t really want to talk, but that didn’t stop Gasparino from trying – and throwing in some shots at his old employer, CNBC (or – “Brand X” as he called them).

“Am I a scary guy?” asked Gasparino at the beginning of the segment. After the short walk through the News Corp. building, where Geithner was friendly but refused to answer any questions, anchor Liz Claman disputed Gasparino’s claim that the Treasury Secretary was “a wussy.” “He totally talked to you!” she said.

“Unlike Brand X, they’ll let him get away with his spin,” said Gasparino. When Claman pointed out he weas talking about CNBC, he continued:

I don’t dignify them with the real station name because they would allow him to spew the absurdity that when you raise taxes on the rich…that somehow that’s good. They will allow him to get away with that, I wouldn’t.

This certainly isn’t the first time Gasparino has taken on CNBC – and we’d bet it won’t be his last.

After the comment, he moved on to discuss how Geithner is probably going to be out of a job soon.

Here’s the ambush and CNBC comments:
