Chris Matthews Is ‘Dying’ for a Joe Biden Presidential Campaign

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews admitted Wednesday evening that he’s “dying” to see Vice President Joe Biden throw his hat in the presidential ring in for 2016, but not necessarily because he thinks he would make a great president. Instead, like many other people who cover politics, Matthews is in it for the entertainment value.

Mathew Littman, who worked as a speechwriter for Biden during his 2008 campaign for president was extolling his former’s boss’ qualifications when Matthews interrupted him. “You are trying to talk me into this?” Matthews asked in disbelief. “I’m dying for a race like this, what are you crazy?”

“Every reporter in this town, left, right and center wants this to happen,” Matthews adding, saying no one is particularly excited about the idea of Martin O’Malley or Brian Schweitzer running against Hillary Clinton.

But Biden? “This is big time. This is big casino if they run against each other,” the host said.
