Chris Wallace Confronts Paul Manafort for Saying Trump Has Been ‘Playing a Part’

Top Donald Trump aide Paul Manafort assured RNC members days ago that Trump has been “playing a part” and will evolve. Chris Wallace confronted him on this on Fox News Sunday this morning.

“‘Playing a part’?” he asked. “‘See the real person’? Trump has been campaigning for ten months now and we haven’t seen the real man?”

Manafort insisted he was talking about Trump appearing in different settings and presenting himself differently in each (i.e. a rally vs a policy speech). He said, “We’ve evolving the campaign, not the candidate.”

Wallace pushed back and remarked “that seems a little bit like spin.” He brought up Ted Cruz pouncing and accusing Trump of “trying to fool gullible voters.”

Manafort responded, “There’s the liar.”
