CNN’s Scott Jennings Warns Elon Musk That His New Party ‘Would Divide’ Conservatives

Conservative commentator Scott Jennings implored President Donald Trump and Elon Musk to put “the band back together” on CNN Sunday.

Jennings made his case the same weekend that Musk announced the launch of the “America Party” after the passage of Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, which is expected to add to the federal deficit.

“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” declared Musk on X Saturday. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

On CNN, anchor Dana Bash read Musk’s post aloud before prompting Jennings to respond.

“It’s harder than it looks to start a political party and, you know, we’ll see where they go with it. My humble advice to Elon, who I admire very much actually, is that you may be dividing the forces of people who want to save Western civilization to the benefit of the people who don’t,” began Jennings in response. “And so to the extent that this effort would divide conservatives and Republicans against each other, that wouldn’t be helpful because it would leave the country to people who want unfettered immigration, who don’t share your fiscal views, and so on and so forth.”

“So, we’ll see where it goes. I sort of hope everybody puts the band back together the way they had it back in 2024 because when everybody was working together, things worked quite well,” he concluded.

Despite Jennings’s plea, The two men have show no signs that they’re willing to patch things up yet. In a Truth Social post on Sunday night, Trump torched Musk in a Truth Social post lamenting that his erstwhile ally had gone “completely ‘off the rails'” and become “a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks.”

“The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats,” added Trump.
