CNN’s Toobin: Prosecutor’s Statement ‘Extended Whine’ Against Media

CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin called prosecutor Bob McCulloch’s statement about the lack of indictment against Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, in which he excoriated the news media and social media at length, an “extended whine.”

McCulloch had said a few minutes ealier, “The most significant challenge encountered in this investigation has been the 24-hour news cycle and its insatiable appetite for something, for anything to talk about, following closely behind with the non-stop rumors on social media.”

“The first part was an extended whine and complaint about the news media and social media,” Toobin said of the remarks, “which I thought was entirely inappropriate and embarrassing and just really undignified, given the circumstances.”

Toobin added that even the second half recounting the evidence was “difficult to follow.”
