Colbert Backs Up Fox News: Eric Garner Isn’t Michael Brown

After announcing his big interview with President Barack Obama set for this coming Monday night, Stephen Colbert moved on to the “hellstorm of peaceful protest” that has rocked New York City ever since a Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict the officer who killed Eric Garner with a chokehold.
As a trusted leader in New York City, Colbert called for calm in the streets, saying, “You could view yet another non-indictment of a white police officer for the death of an unarmed black man as part of a larger, troubling trend. Or, you could be Fox News.”
From there, he showed clips of Fox’s Neil Cavuto, Jonah Goldberg, Bill O’Reilly and Greg Gutfeld dismissing the idea that the Garner case has any connection to the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri.
“It’s not a trend,” Colbert agreed. “It’s just a series of incidents that share common characteristics.”
