David Gregory to Reemerge for Midterm Election Special

David Gregory will emerge for his first major news gig since he was replaced as moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press when he joins Katie Couric at Yahoo! News for a special on Election Day.

The New York Times first reported the news Tuesday that Gregory will join Couric along with other panelists Matt Bai of Yahoo! News and Mike Allen of Politico.

Gregory told the Times he was not able to comment on the news just yet.

Gregory was replaced on Meet the Press by his colleague Chuck Todd after months of rumors and reports that the network was looking to switch things up in light of declining ratings.

Since his departure from NBC, Gregory has kept a relatively low profile, though he is working on a book about his Jewish faith.

The Yahoo! News special will air Tuesday, Nov. 4.
