Debate Moderator Tapper: GOPers Were ‘More Civil’ Than We Prepared For

CNN debate moderator Jake Tapper said after the debate tonight he and the other moderators were pleasantly surprised by how civil the debate was.

It wasn’t the insult-fest that last week’s Republican debate was, and Tapper said it was more conducive to the kind of substantive debate they wanted after last week’s, um, dick-measuring contest.

Tapper explained that the debate was “much more substantive and civil than we prepared for, which was nice.”

Even Trump at one point during the debate said he was glad at how civil things turned out.
