Dem Rep. Hits Back at Trump’s Flynn Tweet: ‘Life in America Should Not Be the Way You’re Doing It’

Earlier today, President Trump expressed dismay at the treatment of Michael Flynn.

“So General Michael Flynn’s life can be totally destroyed,” he tweeted, “while Shadey James Comey can Leak and Lie and make lots of money from a third rate book (that should never have been written). Is that really the way life in America is supposed to work? I don’t think so!”

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer read the tweet tonight and asked Democratic congressman John Garamendi for his response.

Garamendi said, “Mr. President, you are the way life in America should not happen.”

“You ought not be lying,” he continued, “you should be telling the truth, and you ought not be tweeting nasty things about people young and old.”

Garamendi recently talked about Trump’s presidency as “a very serious security threat for the United States.”

“Life in America,” he concluded tonight, “should not be the way you’re doing it, Mr. President. You have a very, very important position in this nation. You’re supposed to establish a high standard of deportment and you’re not.”
