Dershowitz: Marilyn Mosby Acting Too Quickly May Lead to Acquittal, More Rioting
Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby charged all six officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray last Friday, which earned her both praise and criticism. One of her fiercest critics has been Alan Dershowitz, who said just hours after the announcement that it’s a “sad day for justice.”
He repeated the same criticisms on Megyn Kelly‘s show tonight, telling her that he doesn’t see Mosby showing any concern for the justice owed to the cops. He again predicted Mosby would end up being kicked off the case and the trial would move to outside Baltimore to ensure fairness.
Dershowitz believes that even though Mosby acted quickly out of a desire to stop rioting, the very fact that she acted quickly and overcharged them with murder means they will be acquitted, and when that happens, that will lead to more rioting.
