DeSantis Slams Biden For Flying Migrants ‘For Free’ After He Also Did That
Republican presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized President Joe Biden for flying undocumented migrants using taxpayer money when DeSantis quite infamously also did that.
On Sunday, DeSantis welcomed 270 Americans who were evacuated from Israel after the state of Florida partnered with a nonprofit to bring them home amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. The flights were funded by Florida’s Division of Emergency Management.
On Monday’s Hannity on Fox News, DeSantis fielded a question about the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel.
“First, tell us what you were doing for Florida residents that had found themselves without commercial flight availability to come home,” Sean Hannity said to the governor.
“Well, you know Sean, it was sad because the State Department and the embassy in Israel were not helpful to these people,” he began before hitting the Biden administration for giving some migrants free flights. “You think about. Illegal aliens come across the southern border, the federal government will fly them all over the country for free. You know, put ’em up in nice hotels at taxpayer expense, free to the illegal alien. And yet, the best that they were able to do for the people caught, Americans caught in Israel was to either dump them in Cyprus or in Greece, and then charge ’em for that.”
Last year, DeSantis came under fire for sending planes to Texas to pick up migrants who were then flown to Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts using taxpayer money. Some of the migrants appeared not to know where they were headed.
“There was no leadership,” DeSantis told Hannity about the flights from Israel. “And so we stepped up and we led.”
