DNC Bails on RNC and Long-standing Softball Game Tradition
The Democrats, who lost to the RNC in last year’s annual softball game, are bailing on the traditional event designed to encourage teamwork and mutual respect this year, reports the Daily Caller.
The game was an opportunity to put aside the partisan bickering and come together in friendly competition. The decade-old tradition typically ended in staffers having a drink at a nearby bar.
RNC sources familiar with the decision said the DNC told them that “all our players are out in the field this year. We won’t be able to play.”
The RNC seems pretty miffed about it. In fact the story led their Morning Update email newsletter: “RNC Morning Update: Out In Left Field: DNC Refuses To Play RNC In Time-Honored Softball Game”
The Democrats have a losing record against the Republicans in the annual game.
