Former CIA Director: Obama Thinks Brussels Attack Was ‘Not That Big a Deal’
Former CIA director Michael Hayden said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe that President Barack Obama‘s decision to attend a baseball game after the Brussels terror attacks was because in his “heart of hearts,” Obama didn’t see the attacks as all that important.
“I’m going to say something that will sound pretty harsh but I think it’s true,” said Hayden, who briefly served under Obama in 2009. “That wasn’t a mistake, that wasn’t weakness, that was policy, his going to the ballpark and his spending less than a minute commenting on the attack.”
“I actually believe that in his heart of hearts, the president’s policy is that is not that big a deal,” Hayden said. “There are other things that are more important, and that was what he was messaging.”
