Former Clinton Staffer Calls Out ‘Obsession’ With Hillary After Fox News Anchor Asks If She’s Running

Xochitl Hinojosa, the communications director for the DNC, called out the Republican “obsession” with Hillary Clinton after she was asked on Fox News if the failed presidential candidate would run again.

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer asked Hinojosa, who worked for Clinton twice, about a tweet from New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman questioning Clinton’s statement that she will not be running in 2020.

“Is she out or is she in or is she staying in the middle?” Hemmer asked Hinojosa.

“She stated she is not running for president in 2020 and I take her for her word,” Hinojosa replied. “She is not going anywhere. She will continue to fight for the issues that she cares about. She is going to work to elect Democrats.

“I think that what have you seen generally by Republicans is this obsession with her,” the DNC staffer continued. “And it’s an obsession because she was successful. She was successful as secretary of state. She was a successful first lady. She won the majority of votes when it came to the 2016 election. And I think that she will continue to be around and is someone who is going to fight for the issues.”

Hemmer asked if Hinojosa would like to see Clinton run, a question the DNC staffer dodged.
