Former Weekend Update Anchors Congratulate Michael Che on SNL Gig

Last night, Saturday Night Live announced that comedian and recent Daily Show correspondent Michael Che will become the show’s first black Weekend Update anchor this coming season, joining Colin Jost at the desk starting with the premiere later this month. Che is already getting some congratulatory comments and even some helpful advice from men who sat in that chair before him.

Seth Meyers tweeted:

But the always-prolific Colin Quinn had the most to say to the young comedian, instructing him that he would need to come up with the perfect sign-off to really nail his new role:
