Fox & Friends Fails to Bait Bret Baier over Obama’s Golf Game, Again

Swear we did this one month ago, almost to the day.

On June 16, the Fox & Friends crew wanted Fox anchor Bret Baier to take an easy whack at President Barack Obama golfing while Iraq burned. He declined. On Monday, a slightly different F&F crew gave Baier the same setup, this time over the border crisis, and he just kind of shrugged at it.

“And the president this weekend, of course, golfing,” cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck said.

“Listen, I often don’t begrudge any president from getting out outside of the bubble and getting away time,” Baier said. “This president does have an issue with the photo ops that are going out. For a White House very concerned about images, many people around this town believe that the images are not that good. That said, listen, every president has to get out. It’s a question of how often.”

Even Andrea Mitchell was tougher on Obama’s extracurriculars than that.

There are innumerable people at 1211 Avenue of the Americas who would be happy to hack away at Obama for golfing, as the “detached president” is Fox’s backup narrative to the “imperial president.” Many of those people are already regulars on Fox & Friends. Bret Baier isn’t one of them.
