Fox & Friends: Is Walmart’s Viral Pro-Work Ad a Response to Dems Denigrating Labor?
On Monday morning, the hosts of Fox & Friends noted that many Democrats are celebrating a Congressional Budget Office report — which warned that the equivalent of 2.5 million full-time workers will leave the labor force by 2024 as a result of the Affordable Care Act — by saying that the ACA will allow more workers freedom and flexibility. The Fox hosts then wondered whether a viral ad from Walmart celebrating labor may be enjoying a rise in popularity partly in response to what they believe is the Democratic celebration of not working.
“Job, shmob. Who needs a job?” host Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked as she introduced a clip of Democratic lawmakers saying the ACA is providing workers with a welcome respite from the current job in which they feel trapped.

“It seems we’re actually talking now about America’s work ethic,” host Brian Kilmeade observed. He introduced the Walmart ad and said that it has made many ask themselves, “Whatever happened to the glory in hard work?”
“You can’t take away the dignity and freedom that comes with work and earning and being able to not be locked under debt, right?” Hasselbeck asked after playing the ad. “So, I think there are plenty of Americans that that commercial resonated with, and that’s why it’s going viral.”
