Fox Host Says Riley Gaines Should Challenge AOC to Swimming Race as X War Heats Up: ‘You Would Kick Her Tail’

Forget a debate — if Outkick hostRiley Gaines wants to embarrass Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), she should do it in the pool, according to Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt.

Earhardt suggested as much on Wednesday morning’s Fox & Friends as the female political figures duke it out on social media.

It all started earlier this week when Gaines commented on a picture of AOC with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani with the remark, “We’re being destroyed from within.”

The post prompted the New York congresswoman to reply: “Maybe if you channeled all this anger into swimming faster you wouldn’t have come in fifth.”

When Gaines shared a post of a Fox News appearance on Monday where she challenged Ocasio-Cortez to a debate on socialism vs. capitalism, the congresswoman fired back, “And I would like to challenge this person to get a real job.”

“I have a real job,” Gaines replied. “I’m a mom. It’s the most important & rewarding job in the world. I think if you had a baby girl like I do, you’d understand my positions a little better.”

Speaking with Gaines on Fox & Friends on Wednesday, Earhardt began with some stats fed to her by co-host Brian Kilmeade. Only 14 percent of students participate in college sports. Of those, 5 percent play in Division 1, and only 1 percent finish in the Top 5.

“I wish you had challenged her to the 200-yard freestyle or 200-yard butterfly, because you would win in a debate and you would kick her tail if you had to swim against her!” Earhardt proclaimed to the Outkick host.

So good to see you. Let’s break it down. You just disagree with her being a socialist. That’s all. You disagree with her politics. And she starts these low blows, she starts with you finishing fifth in the national championship among D1 swimmers. And Brian gave me some stats earlier. Said only 14% of college students play sports at the college level. 5% play D1 and only 1 percent, Riley, finish in the top 5. So I wish almost you hadn’t challenged her to a debate. I wish you had challenged her to the 200-yard freestyle or 200-yard butterfly, because you would win in a debate and you would kick her tail if you had to swim against her.

Gaines tied for 5th place in the 2022 NCAA championships with Lia Thomas, a transgender female. Gaines’ outspoken criticism over Thomas’ participation in the event catapulted her to right-wing fame.

She’s now the host of Outkick’s Gaines for Girls podcast.

She is set to address the crowd at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi on Wednesday night.

Other speakers at the event include Erika Kirk, the widow of assassinated conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, and Vice President JD Vance.
