Fox News’ Bill Hemmer Connects ICE Shooting With Jimmy Kimmel Not Saying ‘I’m Sorry’

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer made a curious connection when he insisted that Jimmy Kimmel never said “I’m sorry” following a discussion on the Wednesday shooting at a Dallas ICE facility.

Three people at an ICE facility were shot by a gunman on the roof of an adjacent building on Wednesday morning. The victims were reportedly detainees, though law enforcement did not confirm this on Wednesday. Authorities did confirm, however, that no officers were injured in the shooting. One of the victims died at the scene, and the shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The now-deceased shooter who targeted a Dallas, Texas, ICE facility wrote “anti-ICE” messages on his rounds, according to the FBI.

Hemmer appeared as the “one lucky guy” during the opinion program Outnumbered, and closed a segment focused on the shooting and the anti-ICE message they reported contained.

This is why Jimmy Kimmel needed to say, ‘I’m sorry. And he didn’t.'” Hemmer insisted, tying the anti-ICE violence to Kimmel’s controversial monologue from Tuesday night. “And he needs to. He needs to call Erica Kirk and talk to her. And he needs to go on his program and say, I had this lovely conversation with this grieving widow. And this is what we discussed. That’s the proper way you manage this. And that did not happen.”

Political violence is undoubtedly on the rise of late, and there has been a raft of riots and violent protests in light of ICE’s new draconian deportation programs. It is not clear, however, how Kimmel’s monologue had anything directly to do with the tragic shooting in Dallas, nor did Hemmer explain the connection. One could argue he was pushing for civility though he did not explicitly say as much.
