Fox News Host Outraged MSNBC And CNN Fact-Checked Trump’s Election Lies — That Cost Fox News $787 Million

Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany was outraged that CNN and MSNBC aired fact-checks of Donald Trump after he pushed the same lies about the 2020 election that cost her network more than $787 million.

McEnany, who served as press secretary for Trump at the end of his presidency, when he invented the stolen election claims that fueled the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol, launched Outnumbered on Wednesday by railing against MSNBC’s decision to not air Trump’s speech in full after he won the New Hampshire primary.

“Instead, adding live fact-checks from — wait for it — ‘Russia collusion’ Rachel Maddow!” McEnany said. She also complained that CNN’s Jake Tapper cut off Trump’s speech so Daniel Dale could run a fact-check as the former president once again pushed baseless claims about immigration and his loss in the 2020 election.

While McEnany conceded Dale “has fact-checked Democrats,” she complained that Fox’s rival networks don’t cut off President Joe Biden’s speeches for fact-checks like they do with Trump.

The election lies that CNN and MSNBC sought to fact-check on Tuesday night were the same ones that Fox News promoted in the aftermath of the 2020 election, landing the network in two multi-billion dollar defamation suits. One is ongoing; another Fox settled for nearly a billion dollars.

McEnany was among those who pushed the election lie when she served as press secretary for Trump. In one memorable instance, Fox News host Neil Cavuto cut away from her, saying, “Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue showing you this.”

Later, when Dominion Voting Systems sued Fox News for defamation, the discovery process revealed network executives cracking down on fact-checks of Trump. In one damning email, Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott called fact-checks of a Fox News personality by another “bad for business.”

McEnany’s defense of Trump’s lies comes a day after Trump trashed her as a “RINO” for saying on Fox News that the New Hampshire Primary had some bright spots for Biden.
